HARRISBURG - Rep. Jamie Barton (R-Berks/Schuylkill) announced the release of $250,000 in state funds to improve the Hamburg Community Pool.

This funding stems from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenway, Trails and Recreation Program, which funds projects for planning, acquisition, development, rehabilitation and repair of greenways, trails, open spaces and parks.

“Thousands of people use Hamburg’s community pool to cool off in the hot summer months,” Barton said. “In addition to serving the people of Hamburg, Etchberger Memorial Park has access to the Schuylkill River Trail and the Appalachian Trail, making it a prime stop for outdoor enthusiasts.

“This money will be used to help fund a replaster of the pool, ensuring these outdoorsmen and residents alike can keep coming back for years to come.”
